info & reservations

The Ticket Service operates Tuesday through Sunday during the opening hours of the Collections.

Reservations are required for groups, associations, schools, academies and universities. In compliance with safety and fire regulations, in the museum venue of Palazzo Albizzini, groups can be max. 18 people, including accompanying persons; in the venue of the Former Tobacco Dryhouses, groups can be max. 25/30 people, including accompanying persons.

Other groups may enter at later times (every 30 to 40 minutes at Palazzo Albizzini-about every 20 minutes at the Ex Seccatoi Tabacco) that are indicated at the time of booking, waiting for their own entry time outside the museum-building. No exceptions to the rules indicated are possible.
During the visit, the predetermined route must be followed and, for the Palazzo Albizzini venue, the capacity limit indicated in some small exhibition rooms must be respected. Punctuality is recommended; any changes in the visit date, admission times, or cancellation of reservations should be communicated to the Foundation at least 3 days in advance.

The Foundation has an in-house guided tour and educational tour service (see section GUIDED TOURS AND EDUCATION).

accessibility venues

The two-story Palazzo Albizzini venue does not have an elevator, so it is partially accessible to people with mobility disabilities.
The exhibition spaces of the former Tobacco Dryhouses venue are fully accessible by wheelchair; the two floors are connected by stairlifts. A wheelchair for use by visitors with walking problems is available upon request. In both museums, guides in CAA (augmentative alternative communication) can be requested free of charge in hard copy.

The museums of the Burri Foundation have equipped themselves with a new audio guide, which can also be used by blind people, deaf people (in LIS language) and people with cognitive disabilities through content in “easy to read” and CAA.
Inside the exhibition halls, mimetic typhlodidactic models are also available for the blind public, and by reservation, participatory tours or inclusive educational workshops are conducted with specially trained staff.

The Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri is working on the development of an inclusion plan based on important experiences already established. Specifically, the Burri Foundation works on projects for individuals with physical, psycho-physical and cognitive disabilities through the creation of paths where the disabled person is not only considered a user of the proposed activities, but becomes an active participant in the development and implementation of the activities themselves.

A significant contribution to these activities is related to the public notice for the submission of intervention project proposals for the removal of physical, cognitive and sensory barriers in private museums and places of culture under NRP Mission 1 – Digitization, Innovation, Competitiveness and Culture Measure 1 – “Cultural Heritage for the Next Generation” Component 3 – Culture 4.0 (MIC3-3) Investment 1.2 “Removal of physical and cognitive barriers in museums, libraries and archives to enable wider access and participation in culture” funded byThe European Union – NextGenerationEU and managed by the Ministry of Culture.

accessibility venues

The two exhibition venues have a bookshop with numerous publications on Alberto Burri, many of which are edited and published by the Foundation. Posters, postcards, gadgets and children’s and youth publishing are also available.
At the site of the Former Tobacco Sacks, a larger bookshop also includes:

  • a section of original catalogs of Burri’s “historical” exhibitions from 1960 to 2000, some
    of them in limited numbered editions;
  • a section of volumes devoted to other 20th-century artists;

photographs and videos

No photography with professional equipment is allowed in the two museum venues without prior permission from the Management. Photographs with cameras, smartphones and tablets are possible, without the use of flash for personal use only and respecting the privacy of other visitors.
Requests to take photographs/recordings for study or professional purposes must be made in advance to the email prenotazioni@fondazioneburri.org indicating precisely the use of the images, which are protected by the Copyright Law (SIAE).

checkroom and services

The Palazzo Albizzini location has no checkroom, while at the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco it is available in the Collection’s entrance spaces; lockers are provided with numbered keys, which can be requested from staff upon surrender of a document. The Foundation and staff are not responsible for any missing or damaged items deposited.
The restrooms are equipped with baby changing facilities.

Small dogs are allowed at both museum sites and must be kept in a carrier for the duration of the visit.
