Schedules of the
two exhibition venues

Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. all day opening.

Admission to the Collections is allowed until one hour before closing time.
Reservations are required for groups only.

Visiting time: the Palazzo Albizzini venue takes about an hour while the Ex-Tobacco Dryhouses venue takes about two hours (not including programming in the Multimedia Area’s movie theaters).

The Ticket Service operates Tuesday through Sunday during the opening hours of the Collections.

Reservations are required for groups, associations, schools, academies and universities. In compliance with safety and fire regulations, in the museum venue of Palazzo Albizzini, groups can be max. 18 people, including accompanying persons; in the venue of the Former Tobacco Dryhouses, groups can be max. 25/30 people, including accompanying persons.

Other groups may enter at later times (every 30 to 40 minutes at Palazzo Albizzini-about every 20 minutes at the Ex Seccatoi Tabacco) that are indicated at the time of booking, waiting for their own entry time outside the museum-building. No exceptions to the indicated standards are possible.
During the visit, the predetermined route must be followed and, for the Palazzo Albizzini venue, the capacity limit indicated in some small exhibition rooms must be respected. Punctuality is recommended; any changes in the visit date, admission times, or cancellation of reservations should be communicated to the Foundation at least 3 days in advance.

The Foundation has an in-house guided tour and educational tour service (see section GUIDED TOURS AND EDUCATION).

accessibility venues

The two-story Palazzo Albizzini building is not equipped with an elevator or stair elevator, so it is partially accessible to people with mobility disabilities.
The Ex-Tobacco Dryers building, which is on two floors, is accessible to people with mobility disabilities via wheelchair lift. A wheelchair for use by visitors with walking problems is available upon request. Free CAA guides are available at both exhibition venues. For info 075.8554649.

The two exhibition venues have a bookshop with numerous publications on Alberto Burri, many of which are edited and published by the Foundation. Posters, postcards, gadgets and publishing for children and young people are also available.
At the site of the Former Tobacco Sacks, a larger bookshop also includes:

  • a section of original catalogs of Burri’s “historical” exhibitions from 1960 to 2000, some
    Of which are in limited numbered runs;
  • a section of volumes devoted to other 20th-century artists;

photographs and videos

No photography with professional equipment is allowed in the two museum venues without prior permission from the Management. Photographs with cameras, smartphones and tablets are possible, without the use of flash for personal use only and respecting the privacy of other visitors.
Requests to take photographs/recordings for study or professional purposes should be submitted in advance to the email prenotazioni@fondazioneburri.org indicating precisely the use of the images, which are protected by the Copyright Law (SIAE).

checkroom and services

The Palazzo Albizzini location has no checkroom, while at the Ex Seccatoi del Tabacco it is available in the Collection’s entrance spaces; lockers are provided with numbered keys, which can be requested from staff upon surrender of a document. The Foundation and staff are not responsible for any missing or damaged items deposited.
Toilets are equipped with baby changing facilities.

entry of animals

Animals (even small animals) are not allowed in either location. An exception is made for guide dogs assisting blind people.

norms for visitation

  • Visitors are required to deposit luggage, bulky bags, helmets, umbrellas and backpacks before entering the exhibition halls;
  • A safe distance from the works must be maintained during the visit. It is not allowed to touch the works, for any reason;
  • Polite behavior is required inside the museum so as not to cause damage to the exhibits or disturb other visitors;
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied throughout the museum tour; for safety reasons, they are not allowed to run around within the same spaces;
  • Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) or consuming food and beverages is not allowed.
  • Custodial and supervisory staff, recognizable by their identification badges, are available to visitors for information about the Collections and are responsible for enforcing compliance with the indicated rules;
  • All exhibition spaces are monitored by cameras, and images are recorded for the protection of the exhibited works, in compliance with legal regulations.
